Morning pages (not strictly written in the morning) were interesting today. My mood has been a bit off today a bit sad and occasionally grumpy. A large part of my writing today was listing possible reasons why I was feeling sad. As I went from the trivial (nearly out of my favourite chocolate) to more major life issues, I decided to stop with that theme and change track as I didn’t want to go too far down that road. I found myself writing about what is the nature of spirituality in the creative process and started to put together the thoughts that have been floating around in my head. It felt like I was beginning to make some progress. So at that point the writing felt good, thoughts flowed freely, it was a marked difference from most of the pages I’ve written so far.
My painting today I did in two sessions. I felt it wasn’t finished but didn’t want to do any more at the time, so I returned to it later in the day. I painted circles, one in the centre of the left page and two on the facing page. I painted the circle red and chose green as the main other colour. I knew it would be a stark contrast as they are opposite colours and I usually prefer to use colours that compliment each other. But green it was. I chose yellows and oranges for the other colours. So I’ve sort of painted traffic lights.
